Day 1 - Depart London
Day 2 - Arrive Johannesburg
In Jo'burg you will be met by the lodge's shuttle service and taken to a hidden gem away from the bustling city of Jo'burg that offers a peaceful & relaxing environment. Surrounded by lush gardens with a variety of trees and bushes attracting various species of birds, including the weaver birds who build their nests upside down!. The males build the nests and if the nest does not please the female he will then tear it all apart! Your first opportunity of capturing some fascinating African photographs!
Day 3,4,5, & 6 - Depart via small aircraft to Hoedspruit Airport where we will be met by a travel company representative who will take us on an hour long journey through the rural countryside where you will begin your "African Dream" as sightings of giraffe and elephant graze about the open fields.
Located in the northern region of the Greater Kruger area known as the Timbavati region that boasts of game richness having the highest densities of lion, cheetah, leopard and 400 species of birds.
Hotel Description: A timeless unhurried atmosphere combined with the quaint traditions of a bygone era, creates an aura of romance and nostalgia. this old-world haven in the midst of the African bush charms with its colonial antiques, silver cutlery and crystal glassware. Here style & grace mingle faultlessly with the rugged natural beauty of the setting as manicured lawns give way to dense Mopane thickets and wild animals saunter to drink at the nearby waterholes.
For the next few days you will experience early morning and mid-afternoon game drives throughout this extensive private game reserve in an open safari vehicle. On the animal rich bush country your driver and tracker will travel down hilly dirt roads looking for fresh footprints or tracks of a kill being dragged that direct you to an up-close viewing of a lion, leopard or cheetah!
Tie down your hat, hang on and prepare yourself for ducking under thorn brushes and bouncing along dried up river beds to chase the wildlife for those award winning photos or fascinating stories for your family/friends!
Inclusions: Accommodation, three meals per day, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, refreshments on game drives, laundry, safari activities, one hour nature walks - accompanied by experienced armed trackers (subject to availability), emergency medical evacuation insurance, transfers to and from the lodge airstrip (where applicable).
Not Included: telephone calls, safari shop purchases, gratuities, items of a personal nature, champagne, cognac, fine wines, premium brand spirits and cigars, adventures at Phinda, conservancy or park fees and landing fees.
This magnificent lodge provides the very best safaris I have experienced so I have planned for a four night stay here. Every safari is different as the grounds are massive and each safari is different and absolutely THRILLING! It is here that Africa will tug at your heart strings and pull you back for another visit to the amazing country!
Day 7 Hoedspruit to Cape Town via aircraft!
A scheduled transfer has been arranged to take you to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Cape Town. welcome to Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, strategically situated at the southwestern tip of Africa. The city lies about sixty km. north of Cape Point, in a natural bowl with the magnificent table Mt. to the rear and the vast Atlantic Ocean to the front. It has the reputation of being the most laid-back city in the southern hemisphere with Capetonians adhering to Africa time, which is somewhat slower than most other major cities. This relaxed atmosphere is attributed to Table Mt. known to be among the most spiritual places on earth. People are drawn towards the mountains and every visitor feels the need to climb up or take the revolving cable car to the top of Table Mt. Fro the top you will see the most dramatic views of the whole of the Cape Peninsula. The city is safer than most on any continent with a bustling street life of shops, cafes and market stalls, as well as street artists.
On arrival in Cape Town, a tour company has arranged a private transfer to your hotel.

Attached to our hotel is a fine restaurant that serves delicious inexpensive meals and just an elevator's ride down for dinner! Across the street there is a deli that offers fresh baking, deli counter, fresh fruits, homemade meals/snacks and even a sushi bar! Their freshly squeezed orange juice and endless array of yogurts and salads are handy should you wish a snack in your apartment!
Greenmarket Square in the historical centre is just around the corner! This is where you may purchase souvenirs of fine leather products, bead work of necklaces, lace tablecloths, tee shirts and African cottons. A fascinating place to shop for genuine African merchandise.
Day 8, 9, & 10
The next few days organized tours to capture the surrounding beauty of the Cape will introduce you to Cape of Good Hope, the vineyards and their delicious varieties of South African wines, a drive along the Peninsula to Simon's Town and Boulders Beach to view the only penguins that are seen in Africa. Cape Town has two double decker "Hop On & Hop Off" buses that introduce you to both the city and peninsula which is a fun way to experience the beauty in both the city and outlying areas
For those who really want to see the most spectacular view of the turquoise coloured oceans below there is a staircase with about two hundred steps leading you to the most amazing photographic sight. For the less adventurous there are several landing spots to sit and relax and watch the ocean activity from a comfortable resting place.
A day tour through Stellenbosch region which is in the heart of sine making country to sample their delicious wines.
Robben Island - a 45 minute boat ride to the island to see where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 27 years and to hear how the prisoners were treated.
Christiaan Barnard Museum - to see the actual hospital and surgical area where the first heart transplant took place
Kitstenbosch gardens - a massive park filled with indigenous flora fo the region
Table Mt. cable car that rotates 360 degrees to show breathtaking views of the city and the bay.
Two Oceans Aquarium - Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - free shuttle from your hotel & "One of a Kind" upscale craft shops

CHOBE NATIONAL PARK & CHOBE RIVER
Day 11, 12 & 13 - Upon your arrival in Kasane you will be met by a representative from the lodge and be driven down to a lodge surrounded by lush gardens, an in-ground pool, a bird feeder and a comfortable outdoor seating area where one has the opportunity of meeting other visitors from around the globe!
Early morning excursions take place either by boat and/or safari vehicle to observe the abundance of wildlife on land and water. Excursions of the Chobe River there will be many elephants, hippos, crocs, herons, egrets, storks, Cape buffalo, often sable, impala, baboons, kingfishers, fish eagles & bee-eaters. The elephants cross the river each night at sunset and return to the dry ground for their night's rest.
A great way to end the day with your favourite cocktail watching the brilliant orange ball of fire set on the Chobe River with elephants in the backdrop!
The Chobe National Park boasts of its number of elephants which put on a wonderful display when dealing with others in their herd or their babies first learning to walk and to use their heavy trunks! This park is home to lions, leopards, impala, mongoose, baboons, jackyls and a plethora of colourful birds.
Mid-afternoon tea is served under a shade tree before you depart for another excursion either on water or land.
After your sundowner you will have time to freshen up before having a refreshing drink on the veranda while the kitchen staff are busy preparing your scrumptious evening meal. This lodge prepares all of its own food from freshly grown vegetables, makes its own ice cream and puts on delicious meals for everyone while you chat with friends about the sightings you had during the day!
Day 14 - Depart from Kasane to Jo'burg and return to the lodge for a quiet, rtelaxed evening before your return flight home.
Day 15 - Depart Johannesburg for home.
Day 16 - Arrive home.
Your "Trip of a Lifetime" must now come to an end so it is now "Farewell" to Africa. You have touched our hearts and our memories shall live on!
